HARRISBURG — Sen. Judy Ward (R-30) announced more than $27 million has been secured to improve roads and bridges in Blair, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata and Mifflin counties as part of this year’s state budget.

The 2026-27 state budget requires the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to release an additional $775 million from the Motor License Fund over the next two fiscal years for road and bridge projects across the commonwealth, including $500 million this fiscal year to support projects during the current construction season and $275 million in 2027-28.

“Reliable roads are essential to our communities, and this funding will help improve the transportation infrastructure people rely on every day,” Ward said. “By securing more than $27 million for the 30th District, we’re moving forward with greatly needed infrastructure improvements to make travel safer for residents, businesses and visitors alike. These investments will have a lasting impact on our region without increasing taxes and fees.”

As part of the state budget agreement:

  • Blair County will receive $10.01 million
  • Fulton County will receive $2.88 million
  • Huntingdon County will receive $6.64 million
  • Juniata County will receive $3.97 million
  • Mifflin County will receive $3.77 million

The funding is dedicated to additional road and bridge projects on PennDOT’s low-volume roadways, helping accelerate repairs and improvements to Rural Pennsylvania’s transportation infrastructure.
