HARRISBURG – Sen. Judy Ward (R-30) has announced that her office will host a representative from Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity’s Office to research unclaimed property for area residents. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday May 12, at her district office at 1904 N. Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA.

Unclaimed property can be a wide variety of things including dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten safe deposit boxes, and much more. State law requires businesses to report unclaimed property to Treasury after three years of dormancy.

Treasury is working to return more than $5 billion in unclaimed property to its rightful owners, including more than $19 million owed to residents of Blair County. The average claim is worth about $1,600, and more than one in ten Pennsylvanians is owed unclaimed property.

Reservations are not necessary and the only item you need to bring with you is a VALID photo ID.
