HARRISBURG –Rep. David Rowe (R-85) and Sen. Judy Ward (R-30) today announced a $400,000 loan to support acquisition of a 99-acre farm in Juniata County.
Phillip and Levina Brubacker requested the First Industries SBF-Ag loan for the property located at 460 Mount Zion Road in Monroe Township.
“It is important the Commonwealth makes investments in our farmers,” said Rowe. “Local farms play an integral role in Pennsylvania’s economy and heritage, adding value to the area they operate in and the state overall. With this loan, the Brubackers can acquire this farm and contribute to our robust heritage of farming for generations to come.”
“Agriculture is one of Pennsylvania’s most important industries, and we need to do all we can to support it,” said Ward. “This grant award will help to sustain an industry that does so much for our culture and our economy and will reinvest in a family that works year-round to feed Pennsylvania.”
The grant was awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The CFA was created in 2004 as an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to administer the Commonwealth’s economic stimulus packages.
