Senate Hearing Will Explore Progress on Protecting Long-term Care Facilities Against COVID-19

HARRISBURG – The Senate Aging and Youth Committee will get an update on measures to protect residents and staff of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities amid the COVID-19 pandemic during a public hearing on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Committee Chair Senator Judy Ward (R-30) said the hearing would include an update on the serious inadequacies in the Wolf Administration’s treatment of long-term care facilities that were exposed at a committee hearing last month.

Testifiers for the hearing will include care providers, advocates and state officials from the Department of Health, Department of Human Services and the Pennsylvania National Guard.

The hearing will be held remotely and streamed live at www.pasenategop.com.
