Grants Support Local Historical Societies, Museums

HARRISBURG – Three grants totaling more than $19,000 from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) will support historical societies and museums in Blair and Fulton counties, according to Senator Judy Ward (R-30).

Grant recipients include:

  • Blair County Historical Society.
  • Railroaders Heritage Corporation.
  • Fulton County Historical Society.

“Each of these organizations does an incredible job of capturing the heritage of our region and preserving our history for future generations,” Ward said. “I appreciate the fact that these grants will help them continue to share these amazing parts of our region’s history and provide valuable educational opportunities for community members of all ages.”

The grants were awarded through PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant program, which is designed to strengthen the state’s museum community and support the primary financial needs and operating expenses of museums and historical societies that are not supported by other funding programs.

PHMC awarded a total of nearly $2 million in grants to 153 museums and historical societies across the state in the current round of funding.
